Who Needs to Feel Loved?

We all do don't we? Isn't it lovely when someone shows you they love you? I mean anyone, friends, family, not just your 'significant other' if you have one. And it can actually be equally as pleasurable letting someone you know that you love and appreciate them. Because of the time of year you are probably guessing where this is leading...

I've often felt that Valentine's Day is too commercial, that it's become so much about businesses making as much money as they can on that apparent one 'love day' each year, forcing mass produced products onto customers, playing on their guilt...you get my drift.

I believe, as I'm sure many do, that any day is a good day to let someone know you love them, and that maybe it can mean even more when it's not on the one 'chosen day'.

You may have guessed that I've been unsure if I felt ok about selling things for Valentine's Day, but I do now feel I have come up with something I actually feel comfortable with. I've taken some time to hand paint some cards, which are one off small pieces of original art. They are unique and you can be sure that there isn't another one like it.

I am unsure if I will be opening the studio in the lead up to Valentine's Day, so I have added these hand painted cards to my online shop to make sure they are available to everyone before the 14th February. Of course, you can buy some of them (the ones that don't say Valentine on them) any time, to send to that special person.

To our grandparents, partners, work buddies, neighbours, single friends, loved ones, partners and pen friends...anyone who could do with some love and appreciation. As I said at the beginning, that's any of us, isn't it?
